The Karakorum is actually a Turkish word that means black rocks this excellent and impressive setup of dark brown rocks in very rare mountain ranges. It houses the largest collection of very high pinnacles and mountains in the world stretching for 400km. This construction has 25km depth and surrounded by Shyok River in the east and Gilgit River in the west. The Karakorum has special significance for its fractured rocks.

Islamabad to Chilas, we will reach Airport early in the morning for the flight to Skardu if the weather allows us, most of the flights often cancel due to bad weather conditions… The alternate way in case of cancelation of flight by road via KKH (Karakorum Highway) world highest elevated paved roads in the world. It is an adventurous journey over the lofty mountainous track while observing the type locality on the edge of slopes. The road passes through historical Town Taxila, and lush green Hazara Division, Abbottabad, Mansehra Besham, Dassu, and Kohistan… This journey will continue for 12 to 14 hours to reach Chilas. Chilas to Skardu, Baltistan is the northeastern region of Pakistan located at the elevation of 2500m from the sea level sandwiched between China and Indian held Kashmir bifurcated by the mighty Indus River. The region blessed by 100 peaks more than 7000 meters.
